With September marking Blue Planet’s 15 year anniversary, I decided to stop in and see a client we met in our first few years of being in business. It was so long ago that I recall these folks found us from our Yellow Page ad. Yellow Pages. When is the last time you used the Yellow Pages?! Regardless, these folks have a 140 gallon saltwater “fish-only” aquarium which was custom built into a room remodel. We worked with the client’s architect and builder to create a seamless look and not make the aquarium look as if it were an afterthought, but a focal point of the room. Encased in the bookshelf, with hidden piping running through the house and going a floor down in a mechanical room where the filtration is located, this tank is still to this day a beautiful display.
Over the years not much has changed in terms of the equipment on the tank. We did convert the tank to LED lighting (I’m a big fan if you couldn’t tell), but beyond that the rest of the filtration is largely the same.
